This site is now down. I have gotten a few customers who have tried to order this book and can get it to download. The link is not any good. I called the company direct and got a answering machine for another place.

I finally broke down and bought a theater style popcorn cart. This is a smaller version of the popcorn poppers that you see in movie theaters and that popcorn vendors use. It’s a old fashion looking popper on wheels.
This popper can even be used on counter tops. It comes apart from the wheels by pulling two pins out.
It could be used for parties, church functions or even setting it up at a local flea market and selling popcorn from it. I may set it up and do just that.
It has a 4 ounce capacity. It’s smaller than I like but it makes good popcorn. So I guess it will do. The popcorn is just like at the movies too. You can use any types of popcorn in it from loose bagged popcorn to all inclusive popcorn kits. The kits work out great because everything is included in one bag. You get the kernels, oil and salt all mixed together.
I think you could even use the glazes to make gourmet popcorn. You could make cinnamon, chocolate, blueberry, caramel corn and more. With all of the new popcorn seasonings you have an almost unlimited supply of different flavors to make and try.
If you have the room this may be something you want to get. Whats better than your own theater style popcorn right at home with a good movie or two.

Colored popcorn gets it’s color naturally!
It’s not dyed or painted or stained.
It’s grown that way from seed. The color is determined by the parent seed color. One of the ways to change the seed color without genetically altering it is by pollination. All corn is pollinated by the wind. To keep the colors true you keep any other corn fields separated from the others.
Colored popcorn kernels come in a variety of colors. You can get colored popcorn in Reds, Yellows, White, Blues, Purples and even rainbow. The rainbow seed can be a mix of all the other colors or it could be a strain of popcorn that produces different colors in the cobs. The only color I know that you can’t find is green. After checking with various vendors and popcorn suppliers, I found out that there is not a green popcorn.
Colored popcorn pops out in white. This is due to the small explosion that happens inside of the kernels when the moisture inside is heated causing the hull to burst. This causes the popcorn kernel to turn inside out.
Colored popcorn works the same in gourmet popcorn recipes and in any popcorn popper you use including microwave popcorn poppers.

I recently learned of a great trick for using the Pop-O-Pot microwave popcorn popper. The fine folks at LAARSEN ASSOCIATES told me about this great method to use in the Pop-O-Pot.
It is the way you prep the oil before adding the popcorn kernels and putting it in the microwave for popping.
Instead of the 2 tablespoons of oil, you use 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of oil. Mix the two together in the Pop-O-Pot and microwave for 1 minute. This allows the two to blend and preheats the Pop-O-Pot. Add the 1/3 to 1/2 cup of you favorite popcorn kernels and microwave on the highest setting until the popping stops.
Remove the popcorn from the popper to a large bowl and salt to taste. If you use a good quality buttery popcorn salt, you will have some of the best tasting popcorn ever.
You can add salt to the Pop-O-Pot before popping, but I prefer to add it after its done popping. It keeps the popcorn tender and you can control the amount of salt added to the popcorn.

Does colored popcorn change colors when popped?
Yes it does! You may still see some of the color in the kernel.
The color is in the hulls or the outside shell. Almost all popcorn pops to a shade of white. The color you see is natural coloring that’s put there by nature.
You can not change the color of popcorn by dying it. Painting it , yes.
If you try to dye it, it may change the color slightly.
The hull is very hard and it takes a lot of pressure to break it. In fact when you pop the kernels you are actually causing an explosion inside of the popcorn. This causes the popcorn to almost turn inside out. Next time your eating popcorn take a look at the kernel and you can see what happened to it.

What Type of Popcorn Popper makes the Healthiest Popcorn?
Is it the Commercial popcorn machines used by movie theaters, fairs and sporting events?
Is it the Stove top or Hand crank popper?
Could it be the Hot air popper?
Or is it the Microwave popper?
It all depends on what you use in the popcorn popper and what type you use. The amount and type of oil is what causes most calories.
With the large commercial popcorn machine using hot oil to produce the popcorn you have about 45% of calories from the oil or fat.
The Stove top or hand crank popper can offer less calories from fat if you use less oil in the poppers. Most Hand crank poppers you can use as little as 1 tablespoon of oil.
Microwave popcorn can have as much as 65% of calories derived from the fat used. Some offer low calories options now. The Pop-O-Pot uses only 2 tablespoons of oil.
The Hot air popper is the hands down winner when it comes to less calories. It doesn’t use any oil in popping. If you add extra ingredients and toppings you can add extra calories. To keep the calorie count down and taste up you can use a good quality buttery salt topping. Not real butter or margarine!

The Pop-O-Pot makes great microwave popcorn!
With as little as 2 tablespoons of oil and 1/2 cup of your favorite popping corn, you too can make fabulous popcorn in minutes. It’s a great tool for making homemade Gourmet Popcorn too!The instructions call for 3 tablespoons of oil and 1/3 popcorn kernels. Microwave for 6 minutes until all popping stops. I have found that if you use 2 tablespoons of oil and the 1/2 cup of unpopped corn you get a fluffier finished product. POPCORN!
I got some special instructions on using the Pop-O-Pot. If your microwave isn’t as strong, you can add the oil and put the Pop-O-Pot in the microwave for a minute or two. Add the popcorn and return it to the microwave for final popping. Remove the Pop-O-Pot when the popping stops.
I prefer to add salt and any gourmet popcorn seasonings after the popcorn is done popping. This allows the popcorn to stay nice and tender and keeps cleaning of the Pop-O-Pot down to wiping it out with a paper towel.
If your Pop-O-Pot gets really oily and dirty you can wash it with regular dish washing soap in warm water.
